What the F*** is going on Cosmically in this moment

Here we go …

We are in the midst of another massive shift.

If you’re part of my newsletter, I mentioned this a few weeks back — that the shedding, releasing and purging we tend to do in the depths of winter is being done early — and in a big way.

For some of you, you may be feeling like you are somehow caught in a massive storm — one that appears so big, and so fluid, that you can’t make heads or tails of it. You don’t know where the storm ends and you begin. There’s not telling when it’s going to stop, but the wind, rain and emotions are a monstrous swirl.

For others, you are certainly still feeling this shift — you’re aware that it’s happening, and perhaps noticing the chaos and turmoil in some of your friends or loved ones. You are still certainly experiencing trials, but you’re able to stay in a place of detached awareness — like an eagle on their perch, surveying the seagulls snapping at each other for a single fish below. You are silent, aware, watchful. You still may be feeling tired, but you can also sense the subtle edges of new energy heading your way.

So what exactly is going on?

Get Ready to Slide!

To make this as relevant and accessible as possible, I’m going to tie in our beautiful, natural, organic seasons to help me ground down what’s currently passing through the cosmos.

I love Autumn. I like to think of Autumn as a slide: as you being your descent into winter, you generally lose all of extra layers of baggage and belongings you thought you could bring with you. As we descend into winter, we let a part of ourselves lay to rest, letting ourselves soak in the rich, damp mineral soil of the dark womb of silence and creation. From this place of cocooned silence, we prepare to begin again (by rebirthing ourselves) in spring.

This time, with what’s going on with the energy, we’re at the top of the slide, ready to descend: and are instead leaving everything behind before we take our step out onto the platform of the slide.

So what happens when we’re asked to shed everything before we step into the journey of shedding everything we know? When instead of sliding down with a bunch of baggage, we release pre–descent?

The Underworld of Possibility

Imagine you are Alice from Alice in Wonderland, falling down the rabbit hole. As we fall into this new time of year (for folks in the Northern Hemisphere, this is going to be a similar feeling, but instead with a burst of energy in a heating, shifting way, instead of a cooling, releasing way), we are falling into a deep, dark realm of opportunity that has never before made our dreams so accessible.

At this time in the world, thanks to the deep shifts in the spiritual and energetic fields, the doors of possibility are currently limitless.

In order to access this possibility waiting for us, however, and in order to fully seize this deep, cosmic alignment with our everyday lives and our deeper spiritual gifts, we have to be ready to let go of essentially everything we believe we’ve known.

In the realms of both my own private spiritual practice, and the one I share with clients, I tend to work a lot with the dark. I work with the dark goddess, with shadows, with the heavy aspects of people’s lives. Yes, sometimes people come to me when their lives are in a bright, shiny crossroads, and I am merely guiding them in the right direction, helping them see the multitude of positive options — and occasionally I serve as simple, positive reinforcement. Most of the time, however, my role as a guide on this earth is to dive into the dark with my clients, in order to illuminate the cracks in the depths so they have a chance to observe where the light gets in. From here, those beautiful, sensitive, attentive souls tend to do the work to get themselves out. I get the privilege of listening to the encouragement from their guides, gently aligning and re-aligning them with their soul’s mission as they scrape, crawl, laugh and cry their way into a new state of being.

Through this process of working with the dark, I have spent a lot of intentional time down in the depths of my own psyche. I skulk like an animal in the corners of my shadows, walk deftly in the edges of the sharpest aspects of the fractured parts of myself. I sit in the damp, dark moist, listening to the deafening echo of the silence within the womb of creation. I’ve also dove deep- intentionally embarked on a descent to the “underworld”, (thanks to This Book), and swam among the bottom of the sea of myself — alone, by choice.

One of the main steps during this self-guided (or Spirit-led) descent is that you absolutely must get rid of every thing and part of yourself you thought you knew as you go down. You let go of your entire identity: leaving it all at the altar as you descend, naked and alone, into a place with yourself you’ve never intentionally explored. This process over a few days, each time at the altar leaving a part of yourself behind that you had previously used to describe yourself as something that makes you “who you are.”

For me, that meant leaving behind my identity as a writer, or someone who loves to write — the identity of someone who is active, someone who sees their body a certain way, someone who relates to the world in a certain way. I left behind every single one of my interpersonal and romantic relationships at the time. (I personally wasn’t in a committed relationship at the time, but the author of the book left her wedding ring on the altar during one of her days on the descent, literally stepping out of her relationship as a Wife and moving into the abyss alone. The following day, she left behind her title as a Mother. Leaving her relationship with her son safe at the altar, she made the descent into the underworld completely and utterly alone).

I know this all sounds quite heavy, and quite dark, and for those of you who are currently caught in the winds of the storm, instead of cautiously sitting in the eye of it, it probably frankly sounds like a bit too much at the moment.

What I want to express, however, is that this incredibly massive release is one that is 100% focused on creating space for a massive in-rush of new, healing, clarifiying energy. It’s bringing joy, alignment, and the opportunity to begin to feel the waters in the pools of your dreams. Trouble is, most of us don’t have the space or capacity to accommodate this fresh wave. So we’ve gotta purge some stuff first to make space for it.

Rewrite Your Story

Here is a beautiful fact I want to share with you all during this incredible, unusual, peculiar time at the altar of our dreams:

In order to be able to tap into this magic, and access all that is waiting for you in the realm of possibility, you don’t need to travel to the extent of the underworld.

(Although if traveling to the underworld is something you’re interested in, I’m gathering interest about doing a self-led dark-goddess course that will include a guided descent into the underworld. Leave me a comment if you’re game)!

Thanks to so much light coming onto the planet at once, it’s not necessary at this moment to dive into the depths of our shadows in order to have access to this incredible opportunity coming our way.

All that is required of us is a willingness to completely let go of our current and old stories.

With the current energy on the planet, the new moon upcoming on the 14th of October, and all that is happening on a cosmic and energetic level, we are simply being asked to completely let go of our current programming.

Simple request, right?

…I’m kidding.

But really — What would your day be like if you woke up tomorrow with no story? No story of who you were yesterday: how you tend to act, how you are in social settings or how nervous you feel when your cute coworker comes to say hello. No story of how you always fail with your exercise routine, or how everyone who loves you always lets you down in one way or another.

Who would be you be, if you woke up to the first page of a new story of your life?

It may impossible to know, but all of a sudden, the possibilities are endless.

And so, the trials, turmoil, and tribulations you may be facing at the moment, are all in the name of creating space. If you feel like you’re “going through it” right now, there is a method to the madness. You are being asked to let go. Let go of old friendships, let go of old relationships that no longer brighten you up. Let go of the clothes that no longer fit, the social media apps that cause you to compare yourself to others, the stories you’ve been telling yourself that are keeping you in the same pond you’ve far been ready to evolve out of. Let go of the person you think you are.

The water in that too-small pond is no longer clean. You are being forced to evolve to a deeper level, a newer version of yourself.

Let go and let the universe do the work for you.

One last word of counsel for this *incredibly* cleansing time — as you let the universe purge yourself and your world of your stagnant habits, beliefs and old ways of being, seek out more light! Funny stories, light-hearted podcasts, time with children, and play with serve as an incredibly soothing salve for this purgatory time.

Release, Relieve, Revive.

Until next time,

Indigo Kate
