Update for the New Moon in Libra

There is a lot to be said about what’s going on at the moment: Cosmically, Energetically, Personally (I imagine), Globally ….

And I caution you from getting stuck in the depths and repeat-cycles of the deep, negative dark.

Yes, absolutely, there is darkness happening. Yes, absolutely, we are going through a purge, a release, a surrendering, of sorts.

And yes, absolutely, some areas of the world are feeling this impact in a very literal way — while for others, the storm is internal. or perhaps, relational.

Regardless of what feels like is happening on the surface of your own life — and the bigger picture at large, I offer you this:

As we approach this New Moon in Libra (and Solar Eclipse, which allows for big change to happen at a compressed, accelerated rate),

can you, instead of allowing yourself to walk down the same thought pattern that has led you to the same emotions that has reinforced the same beliefs –

can you choose differently?

I’m currently engrossed in the most recent work by Joe Dispensa (If you don’t know him, he’s a researcher interested in the union of our ‘woo-woo’ stuff with concrete, evidential neuroscience), which discusses the role that repeated thoughts and beliefs have in sustaining chronic and long-term illness.

essentially, he tells a story of a woman who had just gone through the worst year of her life (I’ll leave it to the book to spare you the gory details), and she ends up with a series of chronic illnesses, one of which is deemed life-threatening.

To make a molehill out of a mountain of a story, this courageous woman in the book realizes that by having the same thoughts about her life and her pain, she was essentially keeping her mind, her body, and thus her reality stuck in the past, reliving and repeating the cycles of pain and ill-health that got her to where she was in the first place.

She realized that the only way forward was to ‘create’ a new version of herself.

Now, to spare you an hour’s-long story of how exactly she went about this process (hours and months of specific meditations, brain re-wiring practices, encouraging workshops and therapeutic techniques), the woman from Joe Dispensa’s story healed.

Like,

She fully healed.

Infections, chronic pain, crazy ulcers (in her throat!!) and cancer.

By changing her thoughts and beliefs, which catalyzed a waterfall of other positive benefits in her ever-changing body (because our bodies are always changing, naturally!), this wonderful woman went from sick a debilitated to healthy and healed.

I didn’t share this story with you in my newsletter to try and push someone’s personal work and writing down your throat.

I also didn’t share this story with you (whom I love, and am so grateful you’re here, reading this), in attempt to make you feel any type of way about the difficult / dark / heavy / challenging thing that’s facing you in your life right now.

My intention behind sharing this, however, (because it is the New Moon, and on the New Moon we set our intentions for the month ahead ;) ), is to show you that somewhere, out in the wildly, beautiful, spinning world, an alternative reality is possible.

What if, instead of rehashing the strife we feel we’re in a the moment, we started to imagine that alternative possibility?

What would it look like?

On this New Moon in Libra, should you be feeling radical, courageous, curious, adventurous or divine, I offer you the opportunity to go wild with your imagination:

go on, envision your brightest future.

What do you see?
