Ittt’ssss the holidays.

Anndddd we are being inundated with messages of what we should consume, how we should consume it, and that we should do it, SOON! NOW! BEFORE THE SALE IS OUT!

On top of that, we’re being told that all the astrological stuff that’s happening right now is VITAL. And ESSENTIAL. And IMPORTANT (which, truthfully, astrology is always kind of important. But I digress).

This is the time where things can feel a bit like a washing machine. Family stuff, life stuff, Mercury Rx at a hilarious poignant time (it’s over by Dec 15, which is ALSO the FULL MOON; but the shadow will last another week after that) and other little bits and bobs that roll in with the end of the year seem to flow up and over our safe little containers of compartmentalization within, onto, and… rapidly over the edges of our plates of capacity.

With just a little support, however, it can shift from feeling quite *ugh* to quite… magical.

This is the time of year when I especially appreciate some support from teachers, courses, classes, anything that allows to me sit back for a sec and just receive.
Not try to problem solve.
Not try to navigate.
Not try to figure anything.…

Just be there.
Listen.
Integrate.
Receive.

Lucky for us, we’re living in a world where there are a lot more people like me out there who are offering events, workshops, and services that do just that. There is a plethora of the healers of the world doing their damned best to offer their best version of their classes, lives, and replays to help serve humanity and its growing pains we’re currently experiencing.

It’s great.

However, what I’ve also been noticing lately has been that some of these seemingly sweet, powerful, potent offerings… have some loopholes.

I get it.

We’re being squeezed by the patriarchy right now to make a name for ourselves, proclaim our worth, and share our light with the world. What’s missing in that, however, is the thing that creates the foundation of all these fabulous, alternative, energy-focused offerings: Being a student for long enough to navigate the same pitfalls you want to help your precious clients avoid.

Because we’re under such intense pressure from the (currently collapsing) systems at large, it feels like we need to have our offerings out there, for the world to see ASAP. This, without adequate time, preparation, and training, can create a container where we either expect our clients to inherently “get” where we’re coming from — we expect them to know how to cast a circle, create energetic boundaries, or are familiar with the process of ritual — OR, the programs, workshops, etc, push the host way past their capacity of what space they can responsibly hold safely.

And frankly, it pisses me off.

In the pursuit of “claiming our worth” and being seen by the extent of our soul audience… we take students into places where they’re not ready — we don’t explain our process fully, and we host ceremony in places where we were mere students months ago. Sure, in cases where you were blessed with incredibly high self-esteem and a sense of self-worth that causes you to earn $$$ early on, it can feel great. Students flood in, may or may not resonate with what you’re doing fully, (but at least someone’s out there is doing it), and you feel like you’re fully “in your power.”

…Until, 6 months later, you burn out and start to question everything you’re doing.

I am OVER it.

When it comes to how I curate my life, I’m not what you would call cautious. I’m radical, and weird, and really into adrenaline. When I’m not with clients, studying my craft, or disappearing into fantasy novels (sup ACOTAR fans), I spend my free time navigating a near-freezing ocean (2 degrees celsius) in a lil’ rubber outfit trying to catch the 5 second ride of glory on a surfboard — in the Atlantic. In mid-winter. I am usually the first person to jump off the cliff as soon as someone says “go.” And in typical neurodivergent fashion, I tend to drive a little too fast.

When it comes to my offerings, however — and the pace at which I promise “life changing” workshops, I’m not as loud as most of the other healers on the internet. Hell, I truthfully need to be much louder. But when it comes to promises I’m making and where I lead my students and clients, it comes down to a matter of safety.

When someone hosts a ritual, but they don’t explain the process of what they’re doing thoroughly: Why we light certain candles, why we call in the directions (and ground them when we’re finished); what’s the purpose of salt — We’re activating souls who are just starting to dip their toes into the realm of magic and leaving them to play unsupervised. Activation without proper grounding into the why of doing something — leaves a curious, open and exploratory soul exposed to a plethora of fog-filled paths they might just walk down because it’s new. This is where we end up with with false guides, bad dreams, and many, many mistakes.

Believe me. I’ve made them all.

Working with energy is not a ‘chill’ practice. It’s powerful, it’s monumental, and yes it is life-changing — which is why it’s so essential to take the time to get to know the basics. Maybe it isn’t as “cool” as the “Make your first $10,000 month in three days!” offerings. But when we buy into those things — — what is it we’re chasing? The knowledge? Or the cash?

Another one that gets me a little spicy is working with the Akashic records. The Akashic records are the LEAST MELLOW ENERGY EPICENTRE you can work with. That place has realms worth of information and not all of it is meant for you in this lifetime. Not all of it is even meant for your soul; but if you go asking for it, the records will provide. That’s just how they work. They’re not good or bad. They just are.

When someone offers an Akashic record reading after having only just begun to access the Records themselves, they are bringing individual souls into a world that must be navigated skillfully. It’s not a fairy adventure. It’s not a lil’ splash into the energy realms. And honestly, it puts a lot of seekers in precarious positions.

I love magic. I love empowering people to use their own magic. And I loove when people are able to activate and lean into their soul gifts with me. But it takes TIME, my loved ones. And the only thing that will take me from demure, cottage core witch with my life full of tea and cats; to raging, scary, dark-healer lady pulled from somewhere in the shadows (kidding… I have literally never been demure ;] ), is when healers and coaches get wrapped up in the surface level bullshit wrapped around abundance and start offering stuff that has gaps in the learning.

Years ago, when I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing other than that I was obsessed with Starseed origins and was freaking myself out with the amount of energy I could conduct, I signed up for a 3 month coaching container that promised me purpose, direction and confidence in my ‘soul-led business’ at the end. During my time with this coach & healer, I began to realize they’d actually been at this healing game for much less time than I had — and yet I was the one receiving guidance from them. They hadn’t gone through the steps or experiences that had taught them to listen, really listen, and it made me feel unseen and unheard by someone who was supposed to be guiding the container of my experience. Even though I really did like the person who was running it, her veneer of confidence caused me to sign up for something that ultimately created a disconnect that immediately destabilized the sacredness of her container.

I gained almost nothing from the experience, other than a perspective of how creative I could be in my offerings — since this person who had far fewer years of experience was having great success by completely free-wheeling it.

We don’t ever stop learning. On the healing path, and especially on the human one, that is a beautiful and honest truth that never changes. Even when we think we know, there is always more to learn. That being said, however, there are certainly some skills you pick up along the way and mistakes you need only make once and you never have to repeat them again.

I do NOT want my clients to go through the same completely twisted, backwards, wobbly and patch-work trail I did when I first explored this whole world of energy and magick and lightworking. That’s why we teach. So we can offer others the skills we didn’t have — the skills we had to cobble together over time. When you get it from those of us who have taken the time to be students, it’s the same info you would have learned on your own (trust me, you can’t skip it) — but it’s all grown up and comes in a cute package! Plus, you have someone who can answer questions. Something I would have given anything for seven years ago when I started this work.

So, I’m coming on here to make an announcement.

After the holidays, I’m hosting my own damn workshop.

It’s called the Essentials.

It looks like this:
Three, 2-hour workshops, across three evenings. I was raring to go to launch this pre-holidays, but, like we JUST DISCUSSED, good things come to those who… refine.

And are a little patient.

And also take necessary breaks.

But I’ve GOT the content and I’ve got the fire to share it, so here it is. And you can just get excited about it for a some much-needed, post-holiday care that will actually set you up to start harnessing and using your own energetic skills.

We’re talking about levelling up frequencies here.
Igniting.

It goes like this:

Day 1 — will be focused on the centre of everything. Core energy protection, core codes of healing, core journeying to get you anchored into a state of love, and truth, and receptivity. If you’re only going to do one day, make it this one.

Day 2 — will be about the oh-so-talked-about energetic cords. What the f** are energetic cords, how we actually get rid of them, and why the heck I literally, never, ever, ever cut them. (Ever!!) We’ll trance journey on this day, too. Make sure you’re comfy.

Day 3 — is a power-up. This is where we’re activating new frequencies, getting freaky with light language, and learning new ways of connecting to Source and to Soul. We’re going to power up our bodies on every layer. This day we’ll ignite the heart, and do some very starseedey-type activation stuff that will be very deep and awesome.

So yes, this was a bit of a rant. Forgive me.
