Starseeds: Why prioritizing rest is non-negotiable
Starseeds, cosmic beings, beautiful sensitive souls on this planet: have you ever gone to a music festival, a dinner out, a book signing, and been totally and utterly depleted after? Did you find that not only did it take you days to recover, but you also felt like during the recovery period you were acting like a broken toy? Kind of like, nothing in your earth body was really working?
Or, have you found that despite your sensitivity, you’ve been able to push yourself to go out often, go to frequent events, have the job, do the things… and now you’re dealing with chronic pain / illness? This is not a ‘bad luck’ problem, or even a boundaries problem (although going out tired often leads to having poor energetic boundaries, and poor energetic boundaries often leads to feeling tired… there’s a meditation for that here).
… It’s a REST problem.
Here’s the simple fact for all you starseeds and highly-sensitive souls: Part of our unique skillset and contribution that we bring to the planet is our deeply sensitivity that allows us to perceive energies in our environment, and act accordingly to what’s happening out there. Our mission, as deemed by the Galactic federation and the contract you signed to be here as a highly-evolved soul on this planet, is to help raise the collective frequency of the planet through the expression of your genuine love, joy, happiness, and more love. In short, the better you feel, the better the planet is doing as a collective as a result. (Small ask, I know)!
Unfortunately, as part of our challenge, we’re entering the world at a place that is far from harmony, balance and regulation. It’s actually the complete opposite, in fact. The world in the process of a great shedding; a great deconstruction, as we get rid of the old paradigms that are serving no one and make space for the assimilation and creation of new systems that will allow more humans to live in harmony. This means that in order to live in accordance with what our naturally higher-vibrational souls need, we’re going to have to set an example though our own practices, not jump into mix of things that are already present.
Yes, for sure, I want to validate that this can feel totally and super annoying. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to party, push our bodies, go-go-go with our accomplishments, and only suffer the occasional major cold or seasonal flu that asks our bodies to slow down for a week? Maybe; it depends who you ask.
I was speaking to my Gemini friend today about the highs and lows of our experiences and she reminded me of an important fact: “If I was more even-keeled, (and less sensitive, more like everyone else), I wouldn’t experience such deep happiness and highs when they come.”
This is a beautiful articulative point that we also get to experience a more precise and encompassing joy than many people on the planet. We notice the way the light bounces a certain way off a window. We feel the way the energy shifts after a new or full moon. We can get so high at a collective expression of art (a concert, a gallery opening, a ballet), that drugs don’t even compare. These are all blessings.
But if we don’t prioritize the deep sensitivity of our bodies, we get off-kilter, fast. Our systems get disregulated, our relative groundedness goes out the window (and as starseeds, I can tell you right now 60% of us are pretty ungrounded all the time), and our psychic walls slip down — leaving us exposed to allll sorts of gnarly energy and low-vibrational leeches that just want a taste of the vibration we’re working so hard to curate. Yuck, right?
Yuck.
When it comes to prioritizing rest, here are three tips to remember:
☽ You cannot, and will not, ever be able to ‘compete’ with the earth-based souls whose soul imprints have come from Gaia herself. *we*are*visitors*here*people*!! Our soul origins have come from very different backgrounds, where we’re used to changing forms and spending a large amount of our time travelling around as light. We can’t compete with the souls who have gone through the gruelling process of being Homo sapiens and then so on and so forth. It just ain’t gonna happen.* So stop comparing yourself. Get on your own track, with your own vibe, at your own pace. You will be AMAZED at how much better you feel and how much you get done. Don’t worry about the other players. Focus on your game.
☽ A little energy reset goes a long way. A bath (being under, around, and in bodies of water), a short meditation where you’re able to really tune out the world and truly tune in, 15 minutes with a heavily steeped tea and a weighted blanket, some time lying on the grass or connecting to trees… Seriously. This can help so so so much. As prominently light-based beings, we take on a lot of density, but we’re also pretty good at shedding. Ever wondered why you can feel so drastically different after a massage or a week of healthy eating? We’re master transmuters. We just need to give ourselves the chance to shed that layer of weight that we’ve absorbed during our day / week / month.
☽ Prioritizing rest means we’re more likely to stay in alignment with ourselves and our soul-purpose. When we’re in alignment, it’s more likely that the opportunities, people, situations and events that are destined for us will put themselves into our path. In short, life feels easier. The things that are meant for us can come towards us, because our energy fields are clear and we’re at our functional operating speed. When we’re burned low, sluggish, or crowded with the filler that comes with constantly going and never resting (for me that looks like weed, Netflix, staying up late, eating too much ‘filler’ food and not enough ‘real’ food, and disconnecting from friends), our fields get…cloudy. And that can make it hard for us to see which opportunities are the best and most aligned for us.
